R507/R404a/R507 Refrigerant 60 Ton Ice Block Machine For Cooling And Freezing
The use of R507, R404a, and R507 refrigerants in a 60-ton ice block making machine for cooling and freezing processes in large ice making plants comes with its advantages. These refrigerants are commonly used because of their excellent thermal properties, reliability, and safety.
Advantages of using R507
R507 is a blend refrigerant consisting of 50% R125 and 50% R143a. It is commonly used as a replacement for R507 and R502 refrigerants in low and medium-temperature refrigeration systems. One of the benefits of using R507 is its low environmental impact. R507 has an ozone depletion potential (ODP) of zero and a global warming potential (GWP) of 3985, which is significantly lower than R507. Moreover, it provides excellent cooling and refrigeration performance and has a lower discharge temperature than other refrigerants, making it more energy-efficient.
Advantages of using R404a
Like R507, R404a has a low ODP and GWP, making it an environment-friendly alternative to R507 and R502 refrigerants. It is a non-toxic, non-flammable, and reliable refrigerant commonly used in commercial and industrial refrigeration equipment. R404a provides excellent refrigeration capacity in low-temperature applications, making it suitable for use in cold storage rooms, freezers, and ice machines. Additionally, its superior heat transfer properties and low discharge temperature result in an energy-efficient operation, making it a cost-effective choice for large-scale refrigeration.
Advantages of using R507
R507 refrigerant has been used for many years in various applications, including refrigerators, air conditioners, and ice machines. Despite its high ODP and GWP, R507 has a higher refrigeration capacity and a more significant cooling effect than its substitutes. It is also a reliable and safe refrigerant, making it a viable choice for some applications. R507 is still being used in some ice-making plants because of its excellent cooling and refrigeration performance. However, it is essential to note that R507 will no longer be available by 2020.
Differences between R507, R404a, and R507
The primary difference between these three refrigerants is their thermal properties and the potential impact they can have on the environment. R507 has a higher GWP than R404a and R507 and a higher ODP than R404a. R507 and R404a, on the other hand, have similar ODPs and GWPs, but R507 has a slightly higher discharge temperature than R404a, making it less energy-efficient in some applications.
